Greville Pabst Sets a Block Record at the Gatwick Auctions

Greville Pabst bought four of the five apartments at the 2018 Block auctions, held at the former Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda, a record for the series.
The day opened with Kerrie and Spence's apartment, which Greville secured for a lawyer based in Singapore after a bidding duel with fellow buyers advocate Frank Valentic, with David Wood of Hocking Stuart as auctioneer. He returned for Norm and Jess's penthouse, bought on behalf of a technology entrepreneur and called by Sam Inan in his first auction on the show, where he again came out ahead of Valentic. The second penthouse, built by Bianca and Carla, went to another technology entrepreneur with Greville bidding and Valentic the underbidder. Every apartment cleared its reserve on the day, with profits ranging from just over $200,000 to $545,000, and the strongest result of the season going to Hayden and Sara at $3,002,000. The scale of Greville's buying across the afternoon reflected the depth of interest in the converted hotel.
